Roxy and Connor are getting married in an hour. Her life is permanently changed when her parents unexpectedly declare that they have some good news for her. They dislike Connor and have had him probed, only to learn that Roxy will be his third wife. He was the leading suspect after the first two died in odd ways. Roxy is taken aback by the news and ends up as a runaway bride. She exits the hotel with nothing but her bridal gown and leaves her former life behind. Roxy meets Jake, who welcomes her and keeps an eye on her. She meets Crystal at work, and the two immediately become BFFs after being kidnapped and forced to live in a barn stall together. Logan, a very gorgeous police officer, is the one who eventually finds and rescues them. Daisy, now Roxy, and Logan create an instantaneous and special bond. Daisy and Logan fall in love and get engaged over time. As their wedding date approaches, Connor reappears in their lives. What are Daisy/options Roxy’s now? Marry Logan, return to Connor, or flee? I won’t tell you what happens next because I don’t want to ruin the fun of Irene Woodbury’s Honeymoon Roulette.
Honeymoon Roulette is a lighthearted and unique take on love and romance stories. Honeymoon Roulette was a quick and entertaining read. It was impossible not to adore Roxy and root for her in her various misadventures. There’s plenty of romance, but no obscene sex scenes or cursing; instead, there’s plenty of clean reading. This book is ideal for a relaxing afternoon by the pool or a cozy day in front of the fireplace. Irene Woodbury has crafted memorable characters and a compelling plot that will have you wanting more. I’m hoping for a sequel so I can keep up with my new friend Roxy’s life. Honeymoon Roulette is a winner, so don’t pass it up.
