Jennifer Peel’s contemporary romance, All’s Fair in Love and Blood, is aimed for young adults. Scarlett Armstrong is an awkward, fat, and clumsy girl whose life is chronicled in this film. Her step-siblings and prior wives despised her and felt entitled to her father’s wealth. Kane didn’t think much of her, but she didn’t think much of herself. Kane, a competent employee at Armstrong’s Lab, was her father’s new wife’s son. They met during their parents’ wedding and were instantly smitten. Something magnificent erupted between them, promising a future together. What happens, though, when Kane’s mother and Scarlett’s father are at odds with one other? What happens when they’re put against one other for the position of CEO of the company? Will their love be able to withstand the pressures of victory?

Jennifer Peel’s All’s Fair in Love and Blood is a lovely tale that had me engrossed. It covers crucial topics that every young adult should learn about. This book taught me about self-esteem, self-awareness, tenacity, and following through on dreams, among other things. Others view us in the same light that we see ourselves, and this is a reality. I enjoyed the plot’s unusual and unanticipated twists and turns. A new curveball was thrown just as I thought it was finished. Jennifer did a fantastic job developing the characters. Scarlett’s transformation from a timid and awkward twenty-two-year-old to a confident thirty-year-old was particularly enjoyable to observe. The writing style was also conversational, which allowed me to understand each character’s perspective. This was a fun book to read, and I’d like to read more of Jennifer’s work in the future.
